Maggie May's Comes to Town!

Crosthwaite Commercial have let the former Alibi Bar on the corner of Trippet Lane and Holly Street in Sheffield city centre, at an initial rental of £55,000 per annum.

The bar comprises a ground floor area of around 4,340 sq ft with basement cellars of 450 sq ft and was let to local DJ Gary Sinclair who has re-opened the bar as Maggie May's, specialising in music from the 1950s - 1980s.

Anglo Works is a Listed building which once housed Walter Trickett & Co, the noted Sheffield cutlery manufacturers. In recent years, having fallen into an almost derelict state, the building has been rebuilt by Towers Investments to provide a ground floor bar with student beds above.

Crosthwaite Commercial have acquired the freehold investment of Portland Square in Bakewell on behalf of a private investor. 
This courtyard shopping scheme occupies a central position in the heart of this popular Peak District town and comprises 13 shops and 8 office suites, let to a variety of national and local tenants. 
A price in excess of £2.3m was paid, reflecting a net initial yield of around 8.75%.

Rreef UK have sold Telephone House on Charter Row in Sheffield to a consortium led by Ace Liberty and Stone plc for an undisclosed sum. The building occupies a prime city centre site adjacent to Hammerson’s proposed Sevenstone retail development, where CPO notices have now been served.
 
Telephone House occupies an island site and comprises 90,000 sq ft of offices let to BT until 2013, a 456 space multi storey let to NCP, together with a nightclub, bar and showroom. The total rental income is around £890,000 per annum.

After 12 years as a Consultant at Lane Walker and before that, 22 years working for J Trevor & Sons in London and Sheffield, Martin Crosthwaite has formed Crosthwaite Commercial. The practice will continue to work for a wide range of existing clients, all of whom have pledged their support following the Liquidation of Lane Walker, as well as expanding with many new companies and individuals already seeking assistance.

Crosthwaite Commercial will concentrate on the commercial property market primarily  in the South Yorkshire and East Midlands region, dealing with disposals, acquisitions, rent reviews/lease renewals and valuations, as well as providing investment and development advice.

The aim is to create an independant professional practice concentrating on shops, offices and industrial premises, building strong relationships with clients and providing specialist and constructive advice on all aspects of commercial property.
